Every year for two days in June, the hot spot for team ropers is Kingsville, Texas, home of The George Strait Team Roping. George and Buddy, along with their wives, Norma and Denise, host this roping with a payoff exceeding 120,000, plus trucks and trailers to the winners.

Fast is the key word at the George Strait Team Roping. Over 400 teams come to Kingsville, Texas, attempting to be fast enough on Friday to make it to the Saturday finals. The 25 teams with the fastest combined time on 2 head Friday come back for the finals. In the finals the top 25 teams get 3 head.
